Tanaiste appointee Leo Varadkar has said that further restrictions ‘cannot be ruled out’, following confirmation that the coronavirus is out of control in Ireland.
The country is in Level 5 lockdown at the moment, but some say that this might not be enough to curtail the spread of the disease.
Schools are still scheduled to reopen on January 11, but that decision might be reviewed.
