Laya healthcare is going to increase the price across its schemes from the beginning of next year by 5%.
The average increase of 5% will be across gross premiums of a number of schemes.
The company has said that the increase in their price is because of “unsustainable increase in the cost and volume of claims in public and private hospitals, along with a significant increase in consultant costs are the main factors driving this review”.
Last week, the Department of Health wrote to insurance companies advising them to increase their prices by another 10%.
