Dr Tony Holohan says people shouldn’t be afraid to go to hospital if they have pain, a lump or any other concern

Ireland’s chief medical officer, Dr Tony Holohan says people shouldn’t be afraid to go to hospital if they need.

Dr Holohan was admitted to St James Hospital this week and said that the waiting room was empty at 10pm.

He said:
“A lot of staff told me that they’re seeing a big reduction in the health care environments.”

He said that it’s a concern to the HSE and that people should go to their GP or hospital if they need to. Dr Holohan said that he didn’t ignore symptoms he had himself and that other people shouldn’t ignore them other.

“If you have a pain or a lump or concern, do not ignore it, consult the health service in the way that ever you would have.”

“We don’t want people with potential serious illness or serious complications of illness staying away when they shouldn’t.”
