It is understood that a massive €450 million planning application for the further development of Dublin’s Docklands will be made later today.
The proposed new plan for the area is the biggest scheme submitted so far since the area was selected for accelerated development. According to sources the proposed new development on Sir John Rogerson Quay and Hanover Quay will include office space for a total of 2,400 workers and 158 residential apartments and will be called The Reveal Developments.
It is thought the hugely expensive scheme is being supported by the companies TIO plc, an umbrella group involving US investors Oaktree, the Irish property Bennett Group and NAMA.
Reports say the planning applications are being made to Dublin City Council as part of a Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) designation for the area which means that applications that fit in with the masterplan can expect to get permission and cannot be appealed to An Bord Pleanála.
