The telecoms company Eir have confirmed that they are seeking 140 redundancies.
In an announcement the company said that the redundancies are being sought as part of an operations change.
It is understood that the vast majority of the redundancies will be made in its networks divison and its Eir Sport division.
The news comes as the company confirmed just last month that its sports channel will cease operations later this year.
