Gardai in Co Cavan have sadly confirmed that an elderly woman has died following a road traffic collision this morning.
It is understood the woman aged in her 80s was killed following a single vehicle collision in Monelty, Stradone.
Gardai say the woman was the sole occupant of the vehicle and no one else was injured in the incident.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
