The General Election campaign is in full swing and the war of words between the political parties is showing no signs of stopping as the Taoiseach Enda Kenny has taken yet another swipe at Sinn Féin by stating that the party are not fit for Government.

Mr Kenny claims if the Irish public elect to put Gerry Adams and his party into power the security of the State would be put at great risk.

The Taoiseach’s comments come after the Sinn Fein leader Adams, renewed his calls for the abolition of the Special Criminal Court and have it replaced with a witness protection scheme.

Mr Kenny who was recently canvassing in Ballina Co Mayo, was asked by reporters if he thought that Sinn Féin were fit for Government, to which he replied: “They’re not and I think it is outrageous. “What is at stake here is the security of our state.

“Sinn Féin want the Special Criminal Court abolished, I have just spoken to the Minister for Justice, the situation is that the administrative work is now being completed in setting up a second Criminal Court.

“And the reason for that is there has been gross intimidation of juries and witnesses.”
