Ellen DeGeneres has vowed to address allegations that her popular talk show was a ‘toxic work environment’ when it returns to the air on September 21st, the Metro reports.

Her eponymous show sparked controversy when numerous allegations were made about the poor treatment of production staff. One producer has been accused of sexual misconduct, while workers have spoken out about alleged racism and intimidation behind the scenes.

Singer Mariah Carey said that her experience on the show was ‘extremely uncomfortable’. According to the Hollywood reporter, DeGeneres said she had planned for the show to be ‘a place of happiness’ where ‘everyone would be treated with respect.’ This vision is in sharp contrast to multiple allegations against the show.
