Elon Musk’s endorsement of anti-Semitic conspiracy theories from X, formerly Twitter, led to a boycott of famous advertisers, reports RTE.
The nonprofit group Media Matters added Apple, Disney, Comcast, Lionsgate Entertainment and Paramount Global to the list of companies to stop advertising at X.
“Lionsgate has suspended advertising on X because of Elon Musk’s recent antisemitic tweets,” a spokesperson for the film production and distribution company told AFP, reports RTE.
On Thursday, IBM said it had stopped advertising on X after a report that its ads were running alongside pro-Nazi posts on X.
Apple and Disney did not respond to requests for comment.
“Major blue-chip companies are announcing they will suspend all advertising,” the group stated on a web page featuring a running list, reports RTE.
