Cork mother Vera Twomey mightn’t be looking for recognition from the Irish public – but she’s certainly getting it.

Vera is attempting to walk from Cork to Dublin to try and raise as much awareness as possible in an effort to break 30-yr-old Minister for Health Simon Harris and make him give her daughter Ava the medicinal cannabis so she desperately deserves.

Vera Twomey has had meeting and meeting with 30-yr-old Minister of Health Simon Harris but has consistently denied her the medication.

Vera told Harris for the fourth time how her little 6-yr-old daughter Ava has a very rare form of epilepsy with up to 20 seizures a day.

Vera has told both Harris and department officials that she has been informed can be helped by taking medicinal cannabis.

Harris has told Vera that she cannot get the medication to help treat her daughter because she hasn’t been prescribed it by a pediatric brain specialist and that they won’t make an exception.

She has now started to walk from Cork to Dublin in an effort to gain enough public support to get Harris to do the right thing.

Vera said if herself and her husband Paul had emigrated to Australia in 2007, she could get the medication over there at this stage.

Vera’s friends have appealed for sharing of this article to highlight her story and put as much pressure of Harris as possible.
