ESB Networks have issued an apology to their customers after approximately 2,500 homes were left without power in Rathmines, last night.
According to a post on their Twitter page the utility said the outage was the result of technical fault.
However it is believed that the problem was resolved at approximately 11pm last night.
The utility say all power should be restored to homes and businesses in the area and have apologised for any inconvenience caused.
