Scottish actor Ewan McGregor has confirmed that he will reprise the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi in the new Star Wars series on Disney’s upcoming streaming service.
It has also been confirmed that the new series will begin shooting sometime in 2020, though there are no details about storylines just yet.
The new service, Disney+, will launch in November of this year. The company hopes to take a significant market share off the more established streaming platform Netflix, forecasting a user base of 60-90m subscribers by the end of 2024.
