We as nation may be well known for our welcoming hospitality to tourists visiting areas across the entire country, but there can be only one place named the best place to visit in the island of Ireland as the Minister of State for Tourism and Sport Michael Ring has recently announced a shortlist for the Fáilte Ireland Tourism Town Awards.
The shortlist which contains 15 towns from across the country will be narrowed down to one single winner over the coming months and Kerry natives will most likely be the happiest of the lot as they have a total of 5 towns on the list. It is understood that the 15 shortlisted towns will be assessed by a panel of judges over the coming months with the ultimate winne being announced in November.
