Fat Shaming: Vogue Williams lashes out at social media trolls who sneer her supposed “weight gain”

There has been a lot of talk in the media and on social platforms of fat shaming and in particular the comments are directed at socialite Vogue Williams, may be us Irish folks are a fickle lot, or are just jealous, from the attached picture, she doesn’t look like she is fat, she is curvy, stunning and beautiful!  All  this fat shaming hysteria plays on the mind of your mental health, is it fair to have labels established on us?  I don’t think so!  We shouldn’t judge what we see splashed across the front pages of our usual glossy magazines or what we see when we swipe left or right on our smartphones whether it be Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Snapchat.

As the public we seem fixated on what celebrities are getting up to from one end of the week to the next, they are still human like the rest of us, so they deserve a private life and to be treated with respect and dignity, without having silly trolls masquerading themselves behind social media devices publicly fat shaming celebrities is sickening, this expression might come to mind “those in glasshouses shouldn’t throw the first stones”.

In reality we all have a few pounds on our bodies, and it’s up to the individual whether you are an ordinary man or woman on the street or a celebrity like Vogue Williams to decide the time and place to do something and get rid of those few pounds, and it’s not up to the public to start fat shaming and trolling celebrities into being more proactive with their body weight.  May be it’s all down to Public Relations and Branding of your image, but again it’s only up to the individual to decide when and how to lose those few pounds.
