A social media video purportedly capturing a prison staff member having sex with an inmate in a detention cell has led to the arrest of a woman, reports Sky.
Scotland Yard stated that “after officers were made aware of a video allegedly filmed inside HMP Wandsworth,” it opened an inquiry on Friday.
It further stated that a lady was detained by police after being accused of misbehaving while holding public office on the same day.
Southwest London’s Wandsworth is a category B men’s jail, reports Sky.
“Enquiries continue,” a representative for the Metropolitan Police stated. We continue to communicate closely with the Ministry of Justice.
A Prison Service spokesperson said: “Staff corruption is not tolerated and the former prison officer allegedly featured in this video has been reported to the police. It would be inappropriate to comment further while they investigate,” reports Sky.
