A female pensioner has passed away after being found in a stream in Co. Cork early this morning.
The woman, who was in her 70s, was spotted in the water under the Ivy Bridge, at Annagannihy, near Rylane. Emergency services were called and the woman was pulled from the water still alive.
Sadly, she passed away in hospital a short time later.
Gardai are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
