Fine Gael open up lead of Fianna Fáil and remain the country’s most popular party according to latest poll




There was more good news for the Fine Gael party this weekend as the latest Red C poll shows that the Government leaders are still the most popular party in the country.

According to the poll which is published in this mornings Sunday Business Post, Fine Gael remain the overwhelming favourites amongst voters after opening a seven point lead over their nearest rivals Fianna Fáil.

The latest poll which comes just four weeks after the previous shows that the party have a 29 points whilst Fianna Fáil have fallen drastically to 21.

It also suggests that Sinn Féin have lost support after they dropped down three points to 15. However it was better news for the Independent candidates as they moved up 4 points, to 14.

Meanwhile the smaller parties remain almost the same as last month – with Labour on six, the Social Democrats on four, the Greens and Solidarity PBP on three, alongside the Independent Alliance, whilst Renua and other parties have one each.
