Met Eireann has warned of the possibility of localised flooding around Wexford, Wicklow, Cork and Waterford over the next 48 hours.
There is a Status Yellow weather warning in place, in effect from 9pm Saturday until 2pm Sunday.
25 to 40mm of rain is expected around Kerry and West Cork in particular.
The coming weekend is forecast to be rather wet and unsettled, with some periods of sunshine.
