Aer Lingus has been named as one of the world’s safest airlines on AirlineRatings.com.
The site is safety and product rating website launched in June 2013, and today announced its top twenty safest airlines and top ten safest low cost airlines for 2016 from the 407 airlines that it monitors.
“The safety rating for each airline is based on a comprehensive analysis utilising information from the world’s aviation governing body and leading association along with governments and crash data.” -AirlineRatings.com
In light of recent air disasters, accidents and otherwise, the safety of the passenger is something that could not be more relevant than it is now.
The ten safest low cost airlines for 2016 chosen from 407 are:

HK Express
JetBlue
Jetstar Australia
Thomas Cook
TUI Fly
Virgin America
Volaris
Westjet
It is important to note that Ryanair and EasyJet were not included in the 407, as they are not registered with the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
