Two foreign students were set upon by a gang of youths in Dublin in recent days.
The students were walking home from Griffith College when they were attacked by a gang of young boys. The victims were pushed and shoved, and one of the attackers threw a bicycle lock at one of them. The lock hit one of the students in the head, which required medical attention.
The incident happened in the Crumlin area of the capital.
Gardai are investigating.
