
Four males—one in his 60s, one in his 20s, and two juveniles—who were arrested following an aggravated burglary at a house in Shanganagh Cliffs, Shankill, Co Dublin, on Wednesday, have now been formally charged, reports Breaking News.
During the burglary, the four intruders entered the home of a couple in their 60s, where they assaulted and threatened them using a firearm.
They fled the scene using both a vehicle and an electric bicycle, reports Breaking News.
The male homeowner, who is in his 60s, was taken to St Vincent’s University Hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.
GardaĂ responded swiftly to the call, launching a search in the area led by officers from Shankill Garda Station, reports Breaking News.
Three suspects were arrested after a vehicle was intercepted, while a fourth was detained nearby while riding an electric bike.
A semi-automatic firearm was recovered during the area search.
All four suspects are scheduled to appear at Dublin District Court in the Criminal Courts of Justice on Saturday, reports Breaking News.
