Gardaí in Co Longford have confirmed that a man aged in his 20s has died following a triple assault in Lanesboro.
According to The Irish Mirror newspaper, the man’s death comes as two men aged 70s and 80s, and swoman aged in her 50s, were allegedly assaulted by the man during an incident on Monday night.
It is believed that the young man was taken to University Hospital Galway, but passed away.
Gardaí say the two men and woman were treated for non-life-threatening injuries following the incident.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
