A serious case of criminal damage involving trains has been reported in Co Westmeath.
Three train carriages were spray-painted with graffiti while parked at Athlone Train Station between 4pm and 6pm on Saturday morning, reports Breaking News.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in Athlone during that time to contact them.
Drivers or pedestrians who were in the area near the station during those hours and who may have camera footage are also being urged to come forward, reports Breaking News.
