
A young girl vanished from her home in County Down this week, prompting the Gardai to issue an urgent missing persons appeal, reports The Mirror.
On Friday morning, April 18, Maria Silaieva, 17, was reported missing by her family.
As worries about Maria’s safety increase, Gardai are now attempting to track her down with the help of Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) personnel.
Maria may now be in Dublin, according to authorities, after attending an event in Louth on Thursday, reports The Mirror.
In the hopes that someone may come forward to help with the missing persons case, investigators have now released a detailed description of Maria’s looks.
A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana told The Irish Mirror: “Gardaà are assisting the Police Service of Northern Ireland in seeking the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 17-year-old Maria Silaieva who is reported as missing from her home in Dromore, Co. Down since Friday morning, 18th April 2025. Maria attended an event in Dundalk, Co. Louth on Thursday, 17th April and is now believed to be in the Dublin area. Maria is described as being approximately 5 feet 4 inches in height with a slim build, long brown hair and greenish brown eyes. GardaÃ, our colleagues in the PSNI and Maria’s family are concerned for her wellbeing,” reports The Mirror.
