Gardai in Co Donegal have launched an investigation following a suspected hit and run incident in the early hours of this morning.
It is understood that the investigation comes after a man died following the incident which occurred inWindyhall, Letterkenny, at 4am.
Gardai say the man was found on the ground and was rushed to Letterkenny University Hospital but sadly passed away a short time later.
They say following a forensic investigation they believe that the man was struck by a car that failed to remain at the scene.
Anyone who may have been in the area between 1am and 4am are being asked to contact Gardai at Letterkenny Garda Station on 074 9167100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
