Gardaí in Dublin have confirmed they have arrested two people in connection with the shooting of a 77-year-old woman in Monkstown in Dublin on Thursday.
Gardaí say the two individuals, aged 29 and 31, were arrested following three searches within the city and are currently being held at Dún Laoghaire Garda Station.
The elderly woman suffered a serious injury to her leg after the gunman shot her when she opened the door of her house on Thursday night.
Gardaí say an investigation is currently ongoing.
