Gardai have launched an investigation following a fatal hit-and-run incident.
It is understood that a woman in her 40s was found in an unresponsive state in Thomas St., Newbridge, Co. Kildare, at around 8pm on Tuesday night. The victim was rushed to hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Gardai believe that she was struck by a vehicle that did not remain at the scene.
