Gardai have launched an investigation following the death of a young female as a result of an assault.
The victim, believed to be in her 20, was found in an unresponsive state inside a property in the Rathmore area of Athboy, Co. Meath, this morning. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A male in his 30s has been arrested in connection with this incident.
