Gardai have seized an estimated €5,000 worth of fireworks ahead of the upcoming Halloween celebrations.
The fireworks were seized after Customs officers examined a total of 34 separate consignments coming from abroad.
The sale or acquisition of fireworks is illegal in Ireland. Only authorized and skilled operators can purchase them with a special licence issued for events and official celebrations.
