Gardai have issued a warning to the public over a Covid-19 SMS phishing scam.
The warning comes after Gardai have been alerted about the text message scam which looks for personal information.
It is understood the scam targets users via text message and asks the recipient to click on a link to book their Covid-19 vaccine or test appointment.
The scammers then ask the recipient to provide their PPS Number and their credit/debit card details to book their appointment.
Gardai say anyone who recieves a suspicious message should delete it straight away.
Meanwhile the HSE say they would never asks for payment details when it comes to booking an appointment for either a test or vaccine.
