The Government have confirmed that they are to introduce a new legislation that will see much needed changes on how much motorists can be charged for clamping release rates.
The new bill entitled The Vehicle Clamping Act 2015 has reportedly already been signed into law by the President Michael D Higgins but has yet to be officially introduced in the Dail.
It is understood a number of TD’s are urging the new Minister for Transport, Shane Ross to make the new rulings’ legal as soon as possible.
Under the new law motorists who park illegally would only recieve a clamping fee that would be capped at €100.
