
New legislation just signed off by Government will see schools and sports clubs store devices such as epipens to quickly treat life-threatening allergic reactions.
From now on, properly trained members of the public will be allowed to use these devices when faced with emergency situations.
Minister for Health Leo Varadkar has just signed off the new legislation, which will also enable pharmacists to administer vaccines for shingles and pneumonia, thus saving patients a visit to the doctor.
