Animal rights activist groups in Russia and indeed across the world are outraged after a defenceless dog was brutally killed by a sick individual on one of the coldest night’s of the year.
The poor dog which was a year old was left to literally freeze to death after her cruel owner poured cold water over her and left her abandoned on the street in conditions that seen temperatures drop to -32c.
According to the Siberian Times the incident which occurred in the city of Yakutsk, has already seen a petition been setup with it obtaining over 10,000 signatures which calls for the man to face servere punishment.
It is understood the loveable dog was found still alive but frozen still by a member of the public who just happened to be in the area.
The paper reports that animal rescue services were called in to save the dogs life after she could be heard whimpering but unable to move anything but one paw and her eyes.
However depsite their best efforts they were unable to save the dog as she sadly died of hyperthermia at nearby veterinary clinic a short time later.
Authorities investigating the incident said it was one of the worst cases of animal cruelty they’ve ever seen and a number of people including animal rescue workers have been left traumatised by the defenceless dog’s cruel killing.
