Ireland’s currently in the grip of one of the longest and most intense heatwaves in living memory.
Temperatures have regularly reached 27-28C over the last few days, and are expected to surpass 30C before the weekend.
The dry and hot conditions prompted the Department of Agriculture to issue an extremely rare Red Forest Fire Danger notice yesterday, due to concerns about wildfires.
