The first Amazon Echo device to be used in cars has been introduced into the Irish and UK market. Echo Auto plugs into a car’s 12V outlet or built-in USB port and connects to the car stereo via an audio cable or Bluetooth to allow Alexa to be used inside the vehicle.
Drivers can use Alexa voice commands to control music, check messages, check the news, make calls or check their schedules without taking their hands off the steering wheel or taking their eyes off the road ahead. The device gets an internet connection by connecting to a phone and the Alexa app and using the phone’s data plan.
