A woman in Australia has been given a two year jail sentence which will be suspended after 4 months after she admitted to knowing of ongoing incest and was found guilty of allowing the abuse of a minor.
In a horrifying tale of abuse in which a young girl was repeatedly sexually abused by her father over a six year period. The woman who was convicted of the horrendous crime this week, admitted to knowing that her young daughter was being repeatedly raped by her own husband.
According to the Townsville Bulletin, the young girl who is now a fully grown woman, told a court that her mother knew of her father’s horrific abuse and continued to allow it to happen.
The horrific abuse which occurred between the late 1970s and the early 1980s seen the young girl fall victim to both her parents as she was repeatedly raped by father whilst her mother ignored his actions.
In compelling evidence the Townsville District Court was told that at one point when the girl was 15 years old, the abuse got so bad her mother voluntarily swapped beds with her daughter in order for the girl’s father to carryout his sickening abuse.
The court was also told that the girl’s mother had a long standing knowledge of the abuse and that she chose to swap beds and even on occasion passed by her daughter in the hallway before her husband raped her.
The court were also informed that the victim’s mother allowed the abuse to happen in order for him ‘to get it out of his system.’
Despite the ongoing ordeal the extent of the girl’s abuse was only highlighted when the victim’s grandfather was informed of the abuse and he decided to intervene.
Although the victim’s mother now aged 72, claimed she was informed by a GP to ignore the abuse, she was found guilty of her crimes and was given a two year jail sentence which will be suspended after four months.
