Hospitality recruitment in trouble as many staff emigrated from Ireland when the pandemic started




As hotels prepare to reopen next week, many across the country are struggling to recruit staff after many emigrated home or left Ireland at the start of the pandemic.

Hotels and restaurants around the country are crying out for people who can work as chefs, receptionists, waiters and waitresses.

Skilled bar staff are required, pastry chefs, event managers and other hospitality staff are needed after many skilled employees left Ireland fearing that they couldn’t return home or possibly have a job when the pandemic is over.

The Tourism College of Killybegs in Co Donegal is be inundated with calls for staff to be recruited throughout the country.
