There was a large congregation of mourners at County Hall in Cork city yesterday, all gathered to sign a book of condolences for student Karen Buckley, whose life was tragically cut short.
Karen’s parents and three brothers are understood to be back in Ireland, awaiting the return of Karen’s remains.
The young nurse had only moved to Scotland last January. She disappeared after a night out with friends in Glasgow, and her body was found at a farm in the outskirts of the city four days later.
21-year-old Alexander Pacteau has been charged with her murder and is due back in court this week.
