A jury found Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, guilty of fabricating information about his drug usage in order to purchase a gun unlawfully in 2018, reports RTE.
Hunter Biden was found guilty on all three charges by a federal jury in Wilmington, Delaware, making him the first child of a serving US president to be found guilty of a felony.
The 12-member jury’s decision must be unanimous on every count, reports RTE.
Special Counsel David Weiss of the US Department of Justice, a Trump appointment, filed the lawsuit.
Weiss has also accused Hunter Biden of failing to pay $1.4 million in taxes between 2016 and 2019 while spending millions on prostitutes, drugs, and exotic automobiles. Biden is accused of committing three felonies and six misdemeanours related to tax crimes in California, reports RTE.
