Investigation underway after a group of children throw petrol bombs at homes and police officers in Co Derry

Police in the North have launched an investigation after a number of children threw petrol bombs at homes and police officers in an incident over the weekend.

It is understood the investigation comes after the group of youths threw the missiles after a violent disturbance broke out at Fountain estate interface and Nailor’s Row at the Lecky Road in the Bogside, in Co Derry on Saturday night.

Police say they were alerted to the incident at approximatley 10pm on Saturday night when a number of youths threw the bombs at homes in the estate.

Although thankfully their were no injuries reported, police say they are currently investigating the incident.

Meanwhile a number of local politicians have described the incident as appalling and wrong, they also say authorities must unite together in order to put and to the senseless violence.
