Irish Water fiasco – Kenny demands people pay water bills even though Irish Water’s future is very much in jeopardy

In an unbelievable state of affairs, out-going Taoiseach Enda Kenny has demanded people not only continue to pay but actually sign up to pay for water charges with Irish Water.

The outlandish demand came as a belingered Kenny doesn’t seem to know if he’s coming or going acting as a filler-in Prime Minister.

Kenny said:
“People not only should pay but have to pay their water bills”

His words were re-iterated by out-going Minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney:
“We believe it was the right thing to do to set up a single utility company. It was the right thing to do to set up a fair charging system to contribute towards a big investment to fixing our water problems. That is still our view. We stand over a fair charging system.”

All this after Alan Kelly claims Irish Water “wasn’t a mistake and is a great service”.

Meanwhile this week, there’s more and more talk that Irish Water will finally be beaten and that water charges will be a thing of the past.
