In the latest desperate attempt to get people to sign up to the unmitigated disaster that is Irish Water, the company has aoounced that it will fix household leaks, but only if said household has registered with them.
The so-called “First Fix Leak Repair Scheme” has been given the go ahead by the Commission for Energy Regulation (CER).
The scheme offers a free fix, but if and only such leak occurs on “the external supply pipe between the point of entry to the house and the property boundary”.
The way they will catch you is that, if you ring Irish Water to get a leak fixed and you are not registered, then the utility will go ahead and register you anyway.
