Lisa Smith left Dundalk, Co. Louth three years ago for Syria and now has a 2-yr-old daughter.
She served in the army and the air corps and worked for a time on the government jet.
Lisa Smith says that she wants to return home to Ireland with her daughter. She was speaking to the BBC and said:
“When I was in Syria, I didn’t kill anyone and when I go home won’t kill anyone”.
She said that she doesn’t even think she has been radicalised and that she just wants to come home to Ireland to educate her child.
But there is massive opposition to allowing Smith return to Ireland after she left the Emerald Isle to join a caliphate State.
A so-called security threat test will be carried out on Smith if Leo Varadkar helps her come back to Ireland.
