Canadian journalist and free speech activist Lauren Southern has caused uproar and consternation after she arrived in Australia as part of a speaking tour wearing a t shirt with the slogan “Its OK to be White” The UK’s Daily Mail reports.
Southern has stated that the t shirt was an experiment to see if there is an inherent bias towards white people being proud of their heritage and has previously stated on multiple occasions that proclaim pride in one’s racial background is not something that is considered wrong or shameful is a person is black or Asian etc.
The controversial YouTube commentator, who has millions of followers on social media, has been an outspoken critic of mass migration, Islam and the LGBTQIA2+ agenda.
She told Sky News Australia that she has “zero shame” for being white. The alleged stunt is said to be aimed towards the whole “black lives matter” movement in America.
The 23-year-old journalist was considered so dangerous in fact, that she was handed a life time ban from the UK for fear she may upset the country’s Muslim population after she conducted a social experiment on a Luton street where she handed out leaflets stating that “allah is gay” and “allah is trans”. Police quickly moved to silence the free speech activist and the Commonwealth citizen is now persona non-grata in the country according to the BBC.
Online commentators have pointed out that ironically both Ms Sothern’s controversial social experiments have proved her hypotheses, that freedom of speech is limited to placate certain groups.
