Killarney businesses are up in arms as local representatives say that up to 40% of the area’s hotel rooms are occupied by refugees, which is harming the tourism industry.

Around 3,700 hotel rooms are currently unavailable to visitors, so local businesses are seeing a sharp drop in footfall.

It is understood that the issue will be discussed in an upcoming council meeting.
