
Jennifer Carroll MacNeill is currently the talk of her constituency, having been appointed as Ireland’s new Minister for Health.
The Dublin TD, who has been regarded as one of Fine Gael’s most prominent politicians, will succeed Stephen Donnelly in this critical role following her nomination by Taoiseach Micheál Martin.
With the mass exodus of Irish-trained nurses to the likes of Australia, UK and Dubai, many people over the years have thought of the Health portfolio as a poisoned chalice, it remains to be seen what Carroll MacNeill will make of it.
