A large convoy of mechanized Wagner troops has been seen moving along the M4 motorway connecting Moscow with Rostov and Voronezh, with reports of Russian attack helicopters being shot down in the area.
In truly unprecedented and historic scenes, the Wagner mercenary group has risen against the Russian Government in what’s thought to be a once unthinkable military uprising.
It has been confirmed that Wagner troops have seized the city of Rostov, about 300 miles from Moscow, and a key site where decisions about the doomed invasion of Ukraine were being taken.
Yevgeny Prigozhin, once a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, is understood to have turned Rostov into his stronghold.
