Majority of drivers cut down on driving over fuel costs, new survey finds




According to a recent survey by online auto marketplace Carzone, 62% of drivers have reduced their driving owing to the expense of petrol, and drivers spend an average of €220 per month on vehicle running costs, reports RTE.

According to its 2024 motoring report, which is based on online activity and a poll of 1,000 drivers, 38% of drivers have reduced or want to reduce the number of cars in their homes in order to save money.

According to 47% of respondents, there has been an 11% increase in auto insurance prices in the last 12 months.

The study indicates that pricing is the primary factor that prospective purchasers are looking at this year, followed by safety, running expenses, and dependability.

In response to the high cost of gas, 62% of drivers have cut back on their driving, and drivers pay an average of €220 a month on car operating expenses, according to a recent poll by online auto marketplace Carzone, reports RTE.

Based on internet behaviour and a survey of 1,000 drivers, its 2024 driving study states that 38% of drivers have lowered or want to lower the number of automobiles in their houses in order to save money.

In the past year, vehicle insurance rates have increased by 11%, according to 47% of respondents.

According to the survey, price is the top consideration for potential buyers this year, followed by dependability, safety, and operating costs, reports RTE.
