Man (39) becomes first person convicted of cyber-flashing in England and gets jailed

The first individual found guilty of a cyber-flashing charge in England and Wales received a 66-week prison sentence, reports Breaking News.

Cyber-flashing was become illegal in the UK on January 31st of this year, and Nicholas Hawkes was found guilty under the Online Safety Act after this.

When the 39-year-old from Basildon, Essex, sent unsolicited photos of his erect penis to a woman in her 60s and a daughter in her 15, he was already a convicted sexual offender. This happened on February 9th of this year, reports Breaking News.

On Tuesday, Southend Crown Court was informed that Hawkes requested to use his father’s phone to make a probationary call that evening.
