Gardaí in Co Kerry have sadly confirmed that a man aged in his 50s was killed following a road traffic incident this morning.
It is understood the pedestrian was killed after he was struck by a car in Aughacasla, Castlegregory, at approximately 2.30am.
Gardai say the driver of the car was uninjured in the collision, however a woman believed to be a passenger in the car was taken to Kerry University Hospital for treatment.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
